AC/DC Singer Banned From Hotel Bar Over Cap
November 20, 2004AC/DC singer Brian Johnson was refused a drink in a swish hotel because he would not remove his trademark flat cap, according to The Sun Online.
Johnson has worn the distinctive headgear at concerts across the world.
But it cut no ice with a young barman in his home city of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Johnson, 57, popped into the bar of the Malmaison hotel for a pint as he waited to meet Newcastle United chairman Freddy Shepherd.
The lad, who had no idea who Brian was, refused to serve him in his cap and Johnson walked out.
An onlooker said: "Fortunately he bumped into a concierge who recognized him and smoothed things over."
